Student Art Show

Student Art Show in April/May 2009 My Life - My Art


Featured artists for April and May will be Carroll County residents in grades 1 through 12 for the 2009 Student Art Show at the Carroll County Arts Center, 204 W. Main in Carrollton. Students in any Carroll County public, private or home school are eligible to enter. Artworks for the show, which will be on exhibit beginning April 6 through May 29, student art work may be delivered to the Arts Center, until Friday, March 20.

Application may be picked up at the Arts Center or School Office


Guidelines:
1. Each student may submit one original piece of art work that was completed during the 2008-2009 school year.
2. Each piece of art work must have an Identification Label attached to the back that contains: artist name ( students should not have their name on the front of the piece), phone number, title of piece (if applicable), school and grade level, media used, parent permission (signed by the parent indicting that the parent is aware of the submission of artwork, reception times and responsibility for picking up the artwork)
3. Art work will be no larger than 18"x24" and may be rendered on any type of surface. Three-dimensional work of a "reasonable for display" size may also be submitted. Not accepted at this time is photography and computer generated work.
4. All art work will be ready to hang when brought into the center. this includes: *framed (with or without glass) with hooks/wire on back ready to hang. *work mounted on mat-board or construction board with fixtures on the back for hanging. *canvas board either framed or mounted ready to hang. The Arts Center believes that the student artist should be responsible for presenting their artwork in a professional-type manner. Assistance to those individuals who need help in the area will be available on March 2 - 7th during regular center hours.
5. there will be no entry fee for student work.
6. The Arts Center reserves the right to photocopy student art work for the purpose of advertising, posters or display during and after the show.
7. Student art work will remain on display for the duration of the show and must be claimed during the week following the show. All work unclaimed 30 days after the show closes will become the property of the Arts Center to dispose of at the discretion of the Center.
8. All art work needs to comply with the Arts Center's and school's guidelines regarding appropriateness.
An artists’ two different receptions are scheduled for this year, one for elementary April 19th from 1:00pm - 2:30 pm;and one for high school students April 19th from 2:30 pm - 4:30PM when students will be recognized for their work and awards presented. Music is scheduled to perform form 2 - 3pm as part of our performing artists series for that day.

Corporate Sponsors are needed for 2009.

Donations are still being accepted for this year’s show.
